Comedy is a challenging genre in that it can demand precise timing, intense character commitment, and an authentic connection to heightened reality. In this hands-on workshop, Michael will work with actors to explore how to create comedic characters by analyzing the text, bring authenticity to the role, and find timing in the dialogue. Some volunteers will be taken from the audience to work at the front of the room. Bring a TV scene/audition in case you are selected to work.

Michael is a Gemini (Canadian Emmy) and Canadian Comedy Award nominated actor and acting coach. His credits include Modern Family, 2 Broke Girls, Eagleheart, Austin & Ally, and My Name is Earl, among many others.
